Best Time to Visit Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park can be visited year-round, but the best time to visit is during the dry seasons, from June to September and December to February. These months offer excellent wildlife viewing, easy road access, and optimal conditions for game drives and boat safaris.

The wet seasons, from March to May and October to November, bring heavier rainfall, creating lush green landscapes and fewer tourists. While some tracks may be muddy, this period offers unique birdwatching opportunities and a quieter, more intimate safari experience.
