Iniziamo dall'inizio. Il viaggio è stato organizzato all'ultimo minuto, qualche giorno prima della partenza. I giorni a disposizione pochi e l'obiettivo chiaro, riuscire a vedere la grande migrazione. In un paio di giorni ho inviato richieste a diversi tour operator, indicando date, budget, desideri. Rioba Safaris è stato quello che, fin da subito, ha capito meglio cosa stavamo cercando e in 24 ore, via WhatsApp, abbiamo definito il tutto. 4 notti, 1 a ngorongoro, 1 al serengeti centrale, 2 al serengeti settentrionale (vicino al Mara River) con fly out su Arusha dall'airstrip di Kogatende. Mid range budget. Tour privato, ovvero macchina e guida solo per noi. Pagamento 30% di acconto, saldo ad inizio safari ad Arusha. In tanzania usano una specie di Paypal locale se si vuole usare la carta di credito. Molto comodo e facile, ti inviano un link dove scrivi importo e dati della carta. Immediato. E fin qui la parte precedente all'inizio. Incontro all'hotel di Arusha (prenotato autonomamente) di prima mattina, pagamento del saldo e via, iniziamo il safari. Ci viene assegnata una guida giovane, Pancras con il quale, fin da subito, entriamo in sintonia. Semplicemente fantastico, nonostante la giovane età si rivela una guida di altissimo livello, esperienza, conoscenza. Forse anche per parecchia fortuna, ma in 4 giorni siamo state in grado di vedere di tutto e di più, accumulando ore di filmato e centinaia di scatti fotografici. Tra i punti più alti, la leonessa con i cuccioli al seguito, il ghepardo che mangia una gazzella, 2 river crossing entrambi di enormi dimensioni, il leopardo che caccia un impala, aquile, ecc.. Insomma, nulla da invidiare al miglior documentario del national geographic. Gli alloggi scelti si rivelano tutti davvero ottimi e anche piccoli imprevisti come la foratura di una ruota si dimostrano motivo di interazione e conoscenza con le comunità locali. Amazing Safari Experience
Our group comprised two retired couples (age 68 to 76) from Canada. Donant was promptly responsive and answered all questions and made sure that all our needs were accomodated. Two of us are vegetarian and we were looked after food wise. Our tour guide & driver in Tanzania, Abu Prince was fantastic. We saw five National parks: Tarangire, Northern Serengeti, Central Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara. Abus spent driving and taking us around for six days. He is extremely knowledgable about the geography, topography, ecological systems in each park, birds, animlas, their behaviours and migration patterns. He was able to clearly explain many of these things ahead of time before our visit to each park, so we knew exactly what to expect and what to see. We saw all animals in their natural habitats. Abu had a keen eye and knew where the animals would be, and constatly communicated with other tour guides to spot and see animals. We saw lots of girrafs, zebras, wilderbeasts, all kinds of antelops, birds, vultures, elephants, and importantly several lion prides. We also managed to see the Marra River crossing by wilderbeests, and it was amazing scene. Staying in tents for three nights was also an amazing experience where we could hear animals at night. These tents are quite comfortable with mosquito nets, hot and cold water and toilets. We were apprehensive about staying in such structures, but it is a quite safe, comfortable and once-in-a-lifetime experience. We also visited Amboselli National Park in Kenya and stayed in a lodge which was also similar experience as we had in Tanzania. We would stronly recommend Rioba if you are planning to go for Safari in Tanzania. They will be able to accomodate all of your needs and advise you what to do and how to go about it.

Outstanding 3-Day Safari with a Local Tanzanian Company
We booked our three-day safari with Rioba Safari because the company made the best overall impression in terms of customer service, communication and professionalism. They were not the cheapest provider, but the booking process was quick, uncomplicated and very well organised. Our itinerary started and ended on Zanzibar: Day 1: Tarangire National Park, overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater, overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park, followed by our return to Zanzibar The entire safari experience was fantastic. Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara each offered completely different landscapes and wildlife experiences, making the itinerary varied and exciting from beginning to end. Our guide was a major part of what made the trip so enjoyable. He was friendly, positive, easy-going and professional. We had a lot of fun together, felt comfortable at all times and enjoyed three unforgettable days. The safari vehicle was excellent, the equipment was comfortable, and the food and drinks provided during the journey were very well suited to the trip. Everything we needed was available, allowing us to focus entirely on the wildlife and the experience. We also appreciated that Robas Safari is a genuinely Tanzanian-owned and operated company. Booking directly with a local provider means that more of the money remains in Tanzania and supports the local economy, guides, drivers, accommodation providers and their families. Quest'esperienza è molto più che un safari. Scoprirai come vengono conservati nel loro habitat naturale alcuni animali della savana, dove puoi interagire con loro (dargli da mangiare o semplicemente abbracciarli) e stare al loro fianco, cosa che in un safari non puoi fare. L' esperienza dura all'incirca 3 ore nel parco ma è unica. Se poi ci aggiungi una delle poche guide, Laiza, che parla italiano ed è stato molto gentile da spiegarci un po' tutto sul parco ma anche sulla Tanzania ed è stato molto gentile a fare qualche fermata extra e supportarci nel parco con zaini e videomaker, beh, allora questa esperienza vale più di 5 stelle!! Ed è compreso nel pacchetto anche un tour a piedi della città di Arusha che purtroppo, per tempo, non abbiamo potuto fare. Grazie veramente di tutto!

Safari discovery
When we booked to go to Zanzibar we knew we wanted to include a safari trip in Tanzania. Knowing where to start was really challenging as there are so many options to choose from. After looking at some comparison sites we chose Riobas Safari for our 3 day trip. Jonas was able to provide itineraries to choose from and we chose visiting 3 parks over 3 days. This was so much better value for money than just a one or two day option. The price included flights, 2 nights accommodation, food and entrance to the parks with a guide/driver. The trip was perfect from start to finish, everything had been thought through and we felt well and truly looked after. The parks were amazing, as was our stay at Ikumbi Lodge. The food provided was lovely and the service was excellent. Eric our driver was diligent and extremely knowledgeable and fun. We honestly thought this would be a one off safari experience that we could cross off the list. But we're all hooked and desperate to book to go to the Serengeti. We zijn net terug van een prachtige op maat gemaakte Safari in familieverband aan Lake Manyara en Ngoringoro crater. Jonas Donant verzorgt de communicatie. Hij is erg klantgericht en authentiek en wist bij het boeken meteen ons vertrouwen te winnen. Onze gids Ernest was een goede chauffeur met veel kennis over en passie voor de natuur. My friend completed his safari in Tanzania with Rioba Safaris in the summer of 2025 and highly recommended the company to me after returning, knowing that I had always wanted to go on a safari. Based on his strong recommendation, I contacted Rioba Safaris and also compared them with several other companies in terms of pricing, itineraries, and overall service. Rioba clearly stood out in every aspect. They were extremely patient and responded promptly to all my questions. They carefully customized the itinerary according to my requests, and after many rounds of communication, we finalized a plan that perfectly suited my needs. About a week before departure, I didn’t hear from them, which made me feel a bit uneasy at first. However, once I arrived in Tanzania, I realized that everything had been arranged exactly as agreed — smoothly, professionally, and well organized. During the trip, I sometimes had new ideas or small issues, and they always did their best to help solve them with great care and clear communication.
