Climbing Kilimanjaro is more than just reaching the summit; it involves selecting the right route based on factors such as climate, scenery, difficulty, and foot traffic, ensuring the best experience for each climber. Kilimanjaro National Park is accessible by road or via Kilimanjaro International Airport, located about 45 km to the west. The Park Headquarters and Marangu Gate, a primary entry point, are approximately 41 km from Moshi town and 86 km from the airport. Additionally, seven other gates—Rongai, Machame, Londorosi, Lemosho, Kilema, Mweka, and Umbwe—are strategically located around the mountain’s base and can also be reached by road.
