We offer you the best on this 5-day safari in Nyerere (Selous) and Mikumi, probably the only classic safari on Tanzania’s Southern circuit. Starting and ending at Dar es Salaam, this safari takes you to the greater Selous ecosystem and gives you the rare chance to experience real African wilderness in the few untouched areas of Tanzania. This safari gives you the opportunity to be in the secluded middle of an African wilderness, with the whole savannah almost for yourself.
You will be picked up at the hotel at 7 am after breakfast and drive for 5 to 6 hours to Nyerere National Park (Selous). Upon your arrival, you will have a hot lunch at the camp, followed by a short rest. At 4 pm, enjoy a boat safari on the Rufiji River for 2 to 3 hours. There, you will find a variety of bird species, as well as crocodiles and hippos. In the evening, you will spend the night at your lodge.

You will have breakfast in your accommodation, followed by a full-day game drive in the reserve. Selous is home to a large population of elephants, a large number of buffalos and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, elands, baboons, zebras, kudus and crocodiles.

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and depart for Nyerere National Park, then head to Mikumi National Park. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Maasai village in the Mikumi area for a cultural experience.
Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park, you will check in at your selected lodge or camp, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Fuel up with an early breakfast before embarking on a full-day adventure through the expansive grasslands of Mikumi National Park, where the open terrain offers prime opportunities for spotting wildlife. After enjoying a picnic lunch in the heart of the park, you will spend the afternoon traversing diverse habitats in search of lions, elephants, zebras, and an array of bird species.
As the day winds down, you'll transfer to Morogoro to board the SGR train for a smooth evening journey back to Dar es Salaam.
