After breakfast, you will make your way into the central Serengeti for a game drive. You’ll eat lunch inside the park and continue your game drive into the afternoon before reaching your camp.
The Serengeti is known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. Be ready to see resident predators, including leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life!
After an early breakfast, you’ll make your way to the northern Serengeti and the Mara River to see the Great Migration. Our safari guide will be sure to find the best spot.
The Great Migration is the largest herd movement of wildebeests, zebra, and other animals crossing the Mara River to the Masai Mara in Kenya. The best time to visit is from July to early October every year
After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the Wagakuria area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this area of the park, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however, from August to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note –Finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross or not cross until a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the park. The area around Lobo and the Grumeti River has good resident game throughout the year. Non-migrating animals like elephant, buffalo, gazelle, zebra, lion, leopard and cheetah can be seen here all year round. The game viewing is very good and you can follow game for long periods without seeing other vehicles – truly one of the forgotten corners of the Serengeti Plains. Magnificent riverine trees can be found along the river lines and bird species such as kingfishers and fish eagles can be found here.
Following our morning meal, we will set off for the Ngorongoro Crater, equipped with lunch boxes for another thrilling game drive. Later in the day, we’ll head to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight.
The Ngorongoro Crater boasts the distinction of being the largest uninterrupted caldera globally and stands as one of Africa’s natural marvels. Approximately 30,000 large mammals, such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and rhinos, call this park their year-round home. Additionally, a diverse array of birds find sanctuary within the crater’s boundaries.

MSC2024-05-04Excellent service and communication, amazing wildlife experience Joseph and his agency provided excellent communication and reliable, honest, service -- and a superb experience watching amazing wildlife. Rioba Safaris is based in Arusha and focuses on the northern circuit, but also provides full service on tours in the south. I booked a four-day package from Dar es Salaam in April 2024, including a day trip to Pugu Hills Nature Forest Reserve and a three-day trip to Mikumi National Park. Joseph arranged my tour perfectly despite very short notice, including some customization based on my schedule and interests. Joseph himself is a very capable wildlife guide, including knowledge of birds. He also arranged for additional guide and safari vehicle services that added a lot of value. Transportation was punctual and smooth, despite a lot of traffic in Dar and slow trucks on the Morogoro Road. The trip to Mikumi from Dar took about 7 hours, but the park made the long drive 100 percent worthwhile. We had magnificent views of the most famous wildlife, plus many birds (including a pair of Verreaux's Eagle-Owls) -- basically nonstop excitement every moment we were in the park. Food and accommodations were very good also. Rioba offers various levels of service, from luxury to budget, depending on client preference. As I understand it, Rioba accepts various modes of payment, including credit card, wire transfer, and Wise. Make sure to ask if your preferred method does not appear on the quote.Maswera Safaris2024-04-22The Great Sourthern Experience Great experience from Rioba Safaris,We hade a 10 Days safari to Ruaha,Mikumi and Selous /Nyerere National Park.Everything was well organised from the luxury Accommodations, food,Jeep and the Guide was perfect.I recommend 100%Ivana V2024-04-09Extraordinary Safari experience An extraordinary journey with Rioba Safaris! An adventure that felt both luxurious and authentic!Voyager049625146562023-10-05Awesome 11-day honeymoon (mountain, Safari, and beach) My husband and I had a wonderful 11-day honeymoon in Tanzania, including a 3-day Mt. Meru trek, 5 day safari, and 3 days in Stonetown Zanzibar. Joseph was very easy to plan with, and allowed many customizations to fit our desires and budget. He provided hands-on guidance of our trip to ensure we knew our guides before departure, and he checked in on us frequently to ensure our needs were met. 1) Our trek up Mt. Meru was unforgettable. Our chief guide (Kessy) was skillful, knowledgeable, kind, and was always thinking 3-steps ahead to ensure a successful summit. We were beyond impressed! Our porters, assistant guide, and chef ensured our comfort. We are experienced hikers but have never trekked before, and we would 100% do it again. 2) our safari was a dream come true! Our guide (Godfrey) skillfully took us to Tarengire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. We saw the Big 5 and so much more! We were treated like VIPs with delicious food and luxurious accommodations. Godfrey answered every question we had about wildlife and culture, and made us feel comfortable and welcome. He is very skilled at his job, and his experience shows! 3) we asked for only transportation and accommodation in Zanzibar, and Rioba booked us well. Even when traffic caused difficulty getting us to the airport with our original plan, Rioba organized a back-up car and got us to the airport on time!Load more
